Association of South-Asian A Cappella Announces Third Annual All-American Awaaz

Seven A Cappella groups will compete for the title of National Champion of South-Asian A Cappella in Washington, D.C.

Washington, DC, March 25, 2019 --(PR.com)-- Seven A Cappella groups will compete for the title of National Champion of South-Asian A Cappella.

On Saturday, April 13th, the Association of South-Asian A Cappella (ASA) will present the third national South-Asian A Cappella championship competition, All-American Awaaz. Competing groups from universities across the United States will be invited to Cramton Auditorium at Howard University to contend for the title of National Champion of South-Asian A Cappella.

In a ranking system, A Cappella groups have competed at seven nationally acclaimed competitions which took place during the academic year. The top seven ranking groups will be invited to compete at All-American Awaaz. The 2018-2019 academic year bid competitions include:

Jeena (University of Texas at Austin)
Anahat (University of California, Berkeley)
Sangeet Saagar (North Carolina State University)
Mehfil (University of Southern California)
Gathe Raho (University of Iowa)
Sahana (University of California, Los Angeles)
Awaazein (University of Texas at Dallas)

Final group rankings were announced on March 15th, 2018 across social media, including Facebook and Instagram.

The A Cappella groups invited to compete at All-American Awaaz 2019 include:

Saint Louis University - Astha A Cappella
Case Western University - Dhamakapella
University of Texas at Dallas - Dhunki
University of Texas at Austin - Hum A Cappella
Texas A&M University - Swaram A Cappella
University of Miami - UMiami Tufaan
