)-- Verrex, the AVIXA™ APEx-certified global provider of superior AV and UC technology solutions and experiences announced that John Powell has been named its West Coast General Manager, based at the company’s Cypress, CA office. Mr. Powell will be responsible for providing senior Operations, Sales, and Business Development leadership to Verrex West Coast teams. He will direct day-to-day operations, oversee growth initiatives, and be an advocate for employee, client, and partner success leading delivery of Verrex’s AV systems integration and global managed services portfolio. He is part of a senior leadership team that reports directly to Verrex CEO, Thomas Berry, Jr., CTS.

Powell brings over 25 years of leadership and sales experience in the high tech sector with an extensive background in building high performance teams, strategic growth planning, and operational execution. Career highlights include Vice President of Sales & Marketing at Integrated Media Systems; Regional Sales Manager – California at AVI-SPL; Vice President, Enterprise Channel Sales at Tata Communications; Vice President, Global Channels at Virtela (NTT); Area Vice President at Equant (OBS); Regional Vice President at Infonet (BT); and Founder & Owner of Teleconsulo, a technology start-up incubator. Powell earned an MBA from Pepperdine University and holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Southern California.
