April is National Home Inventory Month

The National Inventory Certification Association announces the 2nd annual recognition of National Home Inventory Month. This year the initiative has been expanded to include Small Business Inventory services as well.

Avon, IN, March 29, 2019 --(PR.com)-- In 2018, the National Inventory Certification Association (NICA) established April as National Home Inventory Month (NHIM). The focus is to increase awareness of the many reasons a personal property inventory is beneficial. In its second year, the initiative has expanded to include small business contents inventories as well.

NICA provides education and certifications for home and business inventory service providers. Inventory professionals in turn create valuable written and photographic documents that serve a variety of life events. Busy lifestyles have encouraged many to hire an inventory professional for their permanent residences, vacation homes, apartments, small businesses, and/or off-site storage units.

Recurring disasters, increased thefts, and a growing desire to protect one’s assets have encouraged the growth of this service industry. In addition to helping prove ownership when filing an insurance claim, home inventory documents also assist with estate settlement, financial and estate planning, separation of assets, pre-nuptials, documenting collectibles, and securing appraisals. Small business owners find benefits of an inventory that include tracking their assets, preparing a budget, knowing they are properly insured, and in preparation of a merger, purchase, sale, or acquisition.

NICA welcomes all home inventory professionals, members and non-members alike, to participate in National Home Inventory Month during the month of April. Social media hashtags are #NHIM, #HomeInventory and #HomeInventoryMonth.
