Mother’s Day Weekend Meso Run Becomes an Annual Event to Help Fight Mesothelioma

The second Annual Mother’s Day Weekend Meso Run/Walk 5K will be on May 11 in Griffith Park’s Old Zoo and aims to raise awareness of and funds for research on mesothelioma.

Los Angeles, CA, April 12, 2019 --(PR.com)-- Mother’s Day Meso Run, a local 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, announced the second annual Mother’s Day Weekend Meso Run to be held on Saturday May 11, 2019, at Griffith Park’s Old LA Zoo. This 5K run/walk is open to the public and both family and dog friendly.

Mother’s Day Meso Run founder, Julia Forgie, said, “I’m thrilled that the Mother’s Day Weekend Meso Run has become an annual event that brings the LA community together for such an important cause. I hope people come away from the run/walk more knowledgeable and inspired to do even more to fight mesothelioma.”

Mother’s Day Meso Run is dedicated to fighting mesothelioma, a rare cancer caused by exposure to asbestos, through an annual 5K run/walk for the public in Griffith Park, Los Angeles, on the Saturday of Mother's Day weekend. The inaugural run/walk on May 12, 2018, raised awareness about mesothelioma and supported the Mesothelioma Applied Research Foundation (Meso Foundation), a registered 501(c)(3). This year's run/walk will also benefit the Meso Foundation.

The event is open to the public, but runners and walkers are required to register and pay. Registration information can be found at www.MothersDayMesoRun.org/Register.

Mother’s Day Meso Run is actively looking for volunteers, sponsors and participants. More information, including event updates, schedule, event location and other news can be found at: www.MothersDayMesoRun.org.
