New York, NY, April 17, 2019 --(PR.com
)-- On the soap opera Guiding Light, as Remy and Christine, they fell in love. On The Bold and The Beautiful, as Carter and Maya, they dated but their relationship stalled, resulting in Maya marrying someone else. Off screen, however, the two talented actors were creating a love story for themselves - but not in the way one might were thinking.
Fans of The Bold and The Beautiful and Guiding Light, for years, have commented on the on screen chemistry of Lawrence Saint Victor and Karla Mosley and the two talented actors felt it as well. Because of this they decided to create something on their own to not only unleash their creative voices, but also feed the frenzy of fans that had longed to see them together. What they came up with was the comedy Wed-Locked.
Wed-Locked originally debuted back in 2009 when Mosley and Saint Victor played Guiding Light’s Christine and Remy. At the time, as well as playing a married couple on the soap opera, Saint Victor had been married for three years and Mosley was about to wed. The duo wanted to explore the realities of being newlyweds from the perspective of people of color. The series chronicled the ups and downs in the lives of the newly married Robert (Saint Victor) and Denise (Mosley).
They had only filmed one season, even though the web-series was a hit. Now, a decade later the series is back by popular demand.
"We created the web-series Wed-Locked back before web-series were a thing. Now, I guess you can say, because of popular demand, and due to the many new platforms, we are are bringing it back... this time more edgy and more real," says Karla Mosley, who aside from creator and actor, writes the series along with co-star Lawrence.
Now, the actors feel they have more to bring to Robert and Denise’s story. Joining them in the endeavor are co-directors Tina Huang (Rizzoli & Isles, Linda, General Hospital, Josie, Days of Our Lives) and Malcolm Barrett (Timeless, The Hurt Locker), as well as producer/newlywed Tricia Levesque (Withdrawal). Several other of their famous friends make appearances as well on the series that's being called "Really Funny," "Comic and chemistry magic," and "An amazing use of these talented actors," by those who have screened it.
Wed-Locked premieres on The ON! Channel, April 18th, where viewers can binge-watch the full season.
The ON! Channel is available online at: theonchannel.com as well as on Roku, Amazon Firestick, Apple TV, Google Play, Chrome Cast and more.
