)-- SMC and SEF have the shared values of taking a scientific and academic approach to training salespeople and that collaboration can be seen in SMC’s advertisement published in the Sales Education 2019 Annual Magazine.
"We’ve had much success in getting our new hires to become more confident, technically competent and overall more productive faster than before establishing our Sales Academy. With SMC’s vast catalog of over 10,000 standard products and over 600,000 variations to those standard products, the learning curve can be quite steep for our salespeople, so having a well-structured curriculum taught by professional trainers is a big time-saver for our national network of Sales Managers,” said Tim Kuchta, Director of National Sales at SMC Corporation of America.
In November 2015, SMC established the Sales Academy at its North American corporate headquarters in Noblesville, Indiana which is a 6-month curriculum dedicated to training new hires in basic pneumatic theory, automation applications, machine troubleshooting, basic supply chain as well as the administrative skills and professionalism expected in the sales cycle.
“The Sales Education Foundation (SEF) is delighted to have SMC Corporation of America as a corporate sponsor of our 2019 Annual magazine. SMC offers a unique opportunity for individuals to attend their Sales Academy. SMC recognizes the importance of educating a high-performing sales force which builds on the skills taught at the university sales education programs we promote,” said Marty Holmes, Associate Director of SEF.
In 2018, SMC USA broke ground at its North American headquarters in Noblesville, Indiana and is near completion on a 1.0 million square-foot warehouse expansion to boost the total corporate, production and warehouse facility space to 2.6 million square feet.
