Living Full Out Radio Show: Making Adjustments to Life’s Changes with Lydia Joyner

Lydia Joyner has been in 35 different foster homes from childhood through adolescence. She discusses her trials of growing up in this system and how she was able to adapt. By the time Lydia Joynerwas 18 years old, she had lived in 35 different homes, had 18 social workers, and had changed her name 4 times. Her mom had paranoid Schizophrenia and was unable to care for her. Lydia’s journey through foster care was difficult, and she reflects on how she had to change herself for each new location. Now an adult, Lydia is a filmmaker, author, and founded a program called “My Sky Is Falling,” an immersive story driven experience created to highlight the challenges that American foster children endure within the foster care system.
