A highlight of the festival is the San Diego International Spirits Competition, where craft distillers, American merchant bottlers and large distillers submit their spirits for a blind tasting and analysis by a panel of expert judges. The competition takes place on August 10, with results being announced at the festival. VIP ticket holders have the unique opportunity to sample the winning brands and meet some of the judges.

San Diego Spirits Festival is also pleased to announce that The Museum of the American Cocktail (MOTAC) has once again joined the San Diego Spirits Festival as Legacy Charity Partner.
The Museum of the American Cocktail, based in New Orleans, Louisiana, is a nonprofit organization dedicated to education in mixology and preserving the rich history of the cocktail as developed in the United States.
