Cleveland, OH, June 05, 2019 --(PR.com)-- Playwrights Local announces its annual fundraiser event, “Summer Rally 2019: Telling Our Story.” This latest staging of the company’s informal benefit will be held on Sunday, August 11 at 12:00 pm at Forest City Brewery in Cleveland. Tickets are $45 and include lunch from Aladdin’s, one drink ticket, some of Cleveland’s best storytellers, and more to be announced. Information on this single-day event is available at www.playwrightslocal.org/summer-rally-2019/.

Performers scheduled for “Summer Rally 2019: Telling Our Story” include Dee Perry, Molly McFadden, and Mike Geither. Speakers include Mary E. Weems, Ph.D., Sarah Greywitt, and Les Hunter. Information on the silent auction, raffle, and additional presenters will updated at www.playwrightslocal.org/summer-rally-2019/.

"For our second Summer Rally fundraiser, we chose 'Telling Our Story' as our theme," says Playwrights Local Board member, Elana Hunter. "We've got three amazing storytellers lined up in a Moth-type event. We asked all of them to tell true stories about their own lives that say something about themselves and who they are. We wanted an event that reflects the mission of Playwrights Local - highlighting the lives of the people of Northeast Ohio, as told by them."

"The Summer Rally gives us a chance to celebrate with our supporters and friends in a more casual way than just saying a hurried hello at the end of our shows," says David Todd, Artistic Director of Playwrights Local. "It’s an informal event, and it’s held right at the end of one season and the beginning of another. We’re looking forward to reflecting on this past year and previewing what we have in store for 2019-2020."

“Summer Rally 2019: Telling Our Story” will be held on Sunday, August 11 from 12:00 pm to 2:30 pm. The venue for this special event will be Forest City Brewery at 2135 Columbus Road in Cleveland. Tickets are $45 and include lunch from Aladdin’s, one drink ticket, live storytelling, and more to be announced.
