New Starlight Night Vision Rifle Scope Clip-on

Digital FOV is planning the release of a starlight rifle scope night vision clip-on, Digital Crosshairs 1000SL. Product availability is expected early in the 4th quarter of this year.

Stone Mountain, GA, June 22, 2019 --(PR.com)-- Digital FOV is planning the release of a starlight rifle scope night vision clip-on, Digital Crosshairs 1000SL. Product availability is expected early in the 4th quarter of this year. This starlight product is designed with a new extreme low light digital starlight sensor. It will not need an IR illuminator as digital IR night vision systems do. After nightfall the starlight system will provide enhanced visibility for hundreds of yards depending on available starlight, moonlight and ambient light in the environment.

Field testing with Digital Crosshairs 1000SL starlight prototype has produced good results in open fields and urban areas at night. Hunting with starlight in wooded areas showed poor results. Unlike reflected ambient sunlight at twilight, starlight and moonlight do not reflect as much.

When asked about the advantages of starlight over IR night vision, Mr. Johns, Chief Innovator at Digital FOV said, “It depends on the environment you are hunting in. Starlight capabilities will give more visible range than IR night vision in a star lit open area. IR night vision provides visibility when there is zero ambient or direct light of any type. By simply changing the Digital Crosshairs 1000 eyepiece clip-on users can upgrade to the starlight capabilities.” The starlight eyepiece will be available as an upgrade for existing Digital Crosshairs 1000 owners. Pricing has not yet been announced.
