Formosa Group Adds New Expert to Growing Music Division

Music Editor and Composer, Joseph S. DeBeasi Joins the Elite Music Division.

Los Angeles, CA, August 01, 2019 --(PR.com)-- Formosa Group, an industry leader and top creative innovator in post-production sound and music, announced today that pedigreed music editor and composer Joseph S. DeBeasi will be joining Formosa Group’s thriving Music department, which includes many of the industry’s current top-tier music experts.

“I’m very excited to have Joseph join our ranks, he’ll be a natural fit,” stated Director of Formosa Group’s Music Division, Leigh Kotkin. “I first heard about Joseph when he was based out of New York, and I admired how he moved fluidly between music editorial and composition. Now that he’s in Los Angeles, he’ll complement our strong roster of music editors with his immense talent.”

DeBeasi is known for his career breakout film, “Dirty Dancing,” starring Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey, as well as recent feature hits such as “The Revenant,” starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hardy, “Sicario,” starring Emily Blunt and Josh Brolin, “American Sniper,” starring Bradley Cooper, for which he served as both composer and music editor.

When asked about his thoughts on moving forward with Formosa Group’s Music team, DeBeasi said, “I am thrilled to be part of a family of professionals who value musicality and integrity.”

DeBeasi began his career early, with his first co-composer credit stemming from his senior project as a student at Berklee College of Music for a PBS special, “The Dean of Thin Air,” for which he composed, orchestrated, and conducted the score. He went on to write additional music for “What’s Eating Gilbert Grape” as well as a full score for “The Blessing,” which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival. Throughout his versatile and balanced career, as both a music editor and composer, he has built a reputation for his unique blend of creative electronic sounds and traditional instrumentation, as well as his use of melody and harmonic subtext which embody the heart of his musical storytelling.
