Spend a Sunday with Great Aunt Juddie and Storytelling Arts of Indiana; Emerging Indy Storyteller to Delight Audiences with Colorful Characters

Arts patrons Frank and Katrina Basile financially sponsor Indiana storytellers to develop their voices with the Frank Basile Emerging Stories Series for Storytelling Arts of Indiana's 32nd season. This year, a Conner Prairie interpreter and IndyFringe Festival favorite, Kim McCann, was chosen to premiere her original story “Gin Girl” on Sunday, November 3rd.

Indianapolis, IN, August 13, 2019 --(PR.com)-- McCann believes that, "We are all base spirits, infused over time by people, experiences, and the places that intoxicate us the most." Her story is from her childhood days spent in Michigan's Upper Peninsula with various family members, but mostly, her Great Aunt Juddie. In her flamboyantly decorated double-wide trailer, nestled in the stately junipers and pines of Rhoades Point, McCann passed a handful of summers and Christmases under the tutorage of Great Aunt Juddie. These are the stories, characters, and influences that deserve to be served, preserved, and shared.

About Kim McCann

She has performed several one-woman shows during the Indy Fringe Festival, including “Screw You, I'm Nancy Drew.” During the summer of 2018, she attended the As I Recall Storytelling Guild at Hamilton East Public Library, where she first considered the possibility of formalizing something she had been doing her entire life - entertaining and engaging people with personal recollections of her life and experiences. McCann won the first and second Indy Story Slams of 2018, earning her a spot to open for Vicki Juditz at Eugene and Marilyn Glick Indiana History Center. She also opened for Ghost Stories at Crown Hill Cemetery.
