Five Talents Audio Releases a Radically Ancient Bible for This Generation

Best-selling faith-based voice actor creates a written Bible that’s designed to be spoken and heard.

Johns Creek, GA, August 24, 2019 --(PR.com)-- Five Talents Audio, #1 Amazon Best-Selling Audiobook Publisher, and creator of the highly interactive Bible Study tools Witness The Bible and Memo Devo: Memorization as Devotion (both featured on Bible Gateway), has just released the New Testament: From The Revised Geneva Translation in paperback and ebooks formats. What makes this Bible different? It is actually designed to be spoken and heard as much as read.

One of the fastest-growing media formats is audiobooks. The biggest audiobook consumers are 18-49 (Statista 2019). It’s as if this generation is returning to its ancient storytelling roots around the campfire. Couple that with the urgent need to reach this generation with the truth of God’s word, and you get the RGT (Revised Geneva Translation)

“For centuries, people have memorized and spoken back Scripture to each other in long form with powerful, reckless results for the Kingdom,” says Steve Cook (Editor), “I created the RGT with that in mind.”

Borne of Cook’s need to memorize and speak Scripture onstage, the RGT is a modernized version of the first widely-distributed Bible in English, The Geneva Bible. However, unlike the original Geneva of the 1500’s, this Revised Geneva Translation has no commentary or other human adornment. It is text-only, with no footnotes. And at only 224 pages long with a $9.99 price tag, even the 6x9” paperback is extremely portable and affordable.

“Think of it as an actor’s ‘Script’, meant to be spoken and heard as much as read,” says Cook.

The RGT preserves the poetry of the Geneva, while eliminating confusing 16th century words and punctuation. It also preserves the Geneva’s pioneering versification (i.e. beginning every verse on a new line - which aids tremendously in memorization). In scholarly terms, it is a formal equivalency of the Byzantine text-type, based on the translations of William Tyndale and F.H.A. Scrivener.

“We hope this project will be a living and active Bible for this generation,” says Cook.

In addition to their five #1 Amazon Best-Sellers, Five Talents Audio’s front list of audiobooks includes Tom Sawyer: A One-Hour Classic, A Christmas Carol, and Ken Ham's Ready to Return. Steve Cook also tours live performances of the RGT and is the podcast producer of Rick Warren's Daily Hope.

Five Talents Audio exists to activate more Scripture in people's lives.
