Bringing Political Activism Back to Roots Music

Steve Scott’s new video and single, We Know They Lied, a song of dissent, brings political activism back to Roots Music. The song and video both tackle the abuse and devastation wrought by a corporate-duopoly disguised as political parties in the U.S. – false-wars driven by avarice and greed; a routed middle-class; and, a corrupted system of justice and inequality that is fostered by the elite: A punitive-system which is punishingly racist and regressive for nothing more than profit and control

Philadelphia, PA, September 03, 2019 --(PR.com)-- Steve Scott’s new video and single, We Know They Lied, release date Labor Day 2019, brings political activism back to Roots Music.

We Know They Lied is a song of dissent, the song and video both tackle the abuse and devastation wrought by a corporate-duopoly disguised as political parties in the U.S. – false-wars driven by avarice and greed; a routed middle-class; and, a corrupted system of justice and inequality that is fostered by the elite: A punitive-system which is punishingly racist and regressive for nothing more than profit and control.

Steve calls it “music with a conscience!” And he asks, “What the hell happened?” Quoting the famed Marxist-Economist, Dr. Richard Wolff, he says, “In the ‘50s and ‘60s Folk, Country, Blues and Pop Music [i.e., American-Roots-Music] were the literature of opposition...the voice of the left!” Wolff goes on to say, “why not today!”

Steve believes that artists must be a voice of dissent and contribute to the resistance, “We can and must #StopTheAbuse of the American people by the forces of greed.” And, he continues, “greed ain’t good...greed sucks! The fight for equality begins at home....”
