Model 6323 Provides Automatic Switching Based on Signal Power Threshold of Incoming Light

The QuickSwitch® Model 6323 is a single channel SC/APC Duplex Fiber Switch that provides switch control via (3) methods: Manual, GUI, Remote Ethernet, or via Auto Fallback.

Cranston, RI, September 27, 2019 --(PR.com)-- The QuickSwitch® Model 6323 is a single channel fiber optic switch with SC/APC Duplex connectors that allows access to any one of two devices from one computer. Switching from one port to the another can be done via three different methods; Manual, GUI Remote Ethernet, or via Automatic Fallback based on Signal Power Threshold of incoming light.

Remote access can be accomplished using an Ethernet 10/100Base-T connection with either a Telnet or GUI Session. Auto Switch Mode operation permits the switch to manage the channel connection automatically based on Signal Power Threshold of Port A RX for incoming light. When the signal power drops on Channel A, the unit automatically switches to the backup/Channel B position.

The robust remote control Telnet Command Interface or Graphical User Interface allows the user to control switch position, lockout front panel operations, operating mode, obtain switch status, as well as query firmware version number, query serial number, and enable/disable autosend of switch positions. The remote control of the switch is also password protected, the password can be changed, as well as disabled. All fiber signals are switched via break-before-make MEMS-based mirror/prism switch technology. Switch maintains last set position on power loss and continues to pass data.

The Model 6323 can also be manually switched via front panel pushbutton operation. The front panel LED’s display the present switch position and power status. All A, B, and COM ports are SC/APC Duplex, Single Mode, 9/125 micron, and support a wavelength of 1260-1620nm.
