HealthONE to Host "Crush the Crisis" Opioid Take Back Days
HealthONE hospitals educate community about safe, proper disposal of opioids.
Denver, CO, October 12, 2019 --(PR.com)-- In an effort to combat the opioid crisis, HealthONE hospitals will host National Prescription Drug Take Back Day events on Saturday, Oct. 26. Members of the public can drive up to a location to drop off their medications and several law enforcement officers will be present at each location to collect and dispose of the drugs. We are proud to be part of the HCA Healthcare-wide effort to help address the issue.
The National Prescription Drug Take Back Day addresses a crucial public safety and public health issue. Every day, more than 130 people in the U.S. die after overdosing on opioids. The misuse of and addiction to opioids - including prescription pain relievers, heroin, and synthetic opioids such as fentanyl - is a serious national crisis that affects public health as well as social and economic welfare.
Volunteers from area HealthONE hospitals will partner with local law enforcement agencies for a “Crush the Crisis” opioid take back day. What: Crush the Crisis – Opioid Take Back Day
Accepted medications include: tablets, capsules and patches of Hydrocodone (Norco, Lortab, Vicodin), Oxycodone (Oxycontin, Percocet), Tramadol (Ultram), Codeine, Fentanyl (Duragesic), Morphine, Hydromorphone (Dilaudid) and Oxymorphone (Opana). We will not be able to accept needles, syringes, lancets or liquids.
Who: HealthONE employees, including doctors, nurses and staff, as well as members of local police departments invite community members to safely dispose of unused medications.
Medical experts available for promotional interviews prior to or day-of events.
