Free Investing Training through March 31

New York, NY, March 16, 2006 --(PR.com)-- The nonprofit Social Research Foundation (SRF) is offering its online course, INVESTINGAME™ for free through the end of March.

The foundation says more consumers need to learn how to self-invest for retirement, education and healthcare costs.

“Most consumers simply have no idea how to invest properly” says Andrew B. Mallon, SRF Director. “They rely on tips, gimmicks, personalities and over time get poor results” he added.

“You wouldn’t dare go into heavy traffic on your first few driving lessons. So why do so many new investors go into the stock market without proper training? Our research shows beginning investors should slow down and take the time to learn and practice some basic skills before investing a dime” says Mallon.

A one-year survey by SRF found most investing courses are incomplete at best. Some of the better ones are either too expensive or time-consuming for the average consumer, busy with a career and family. Investingame was designed for this audience. It provides comprehensive knowledge in basic investing, plus interactive exercises and practice drills that correct your mistakes on the spot. It simulates two months of experience in about two hours.

Social Research Foundation's basic stocks course will give you confidence and competence in dealing with:
• Emotions - controlling fear and greed
• What to buy - safest stocks for new investors
• When to buy - learning to identify and follow trends
• When to sell - to minimize loss and lock in profits!
• Money management - you simply can't succeed without it
• Creating a lifelong investing goal and plan - our online calculator helps you make a practical plan towards the goal you desire
