Vivaldi Live! at Arcosanti

The Arizona Vivaldi Festival & The Cosanti Foundation present Vivaldi Live!, a music and dance performance in celebration of composer Antonio Vivaldi. Tour of Arcosanti at 5pm, Dinner at 6pm. 928-632-6217.

Arcosanti, AZ, April 09, 2008 --(PR.com)-- The Arizona Vivaldi Festival 2008 and Cosanti Foundation present a performance and dinner honoring 18th century Venetian composer Antonio Vivaldi. This event will be held at Arcosanti, the urban laboratory in central Arizona developed by architect and philosopher Paolo Soleri, which serves as a working example of what an urban center could be. After dinner, the performance will take place at the Colly Center Music Center and Amphitheater, established in honor of Soleri’s late wife Colly.

The evening includes a tour of Arcosanti, dinner, and a music and dance performance of Vivaldi’s great works. The performance will feature the voices of Helene Pouillon and partners, Myra Lin on violin, a live Chamber Music Orchestra, and dance by Terpsicore Dance Company and Movement Source Dance Company.

Soprano Helene Pouillon returns to Arcosanti for this performance. Originally from Versailles, France, she has been trained in music theory, piano, and drama. Pouillon studied opera with internationally recognized mezzo-soprano Isola Jones.

The festivities will begin with a complimentary tour of Arcosanti at 5pm, followed by dinner at 6pm, and the performance will start at 7:30pm. The dinner will feature Minestrone Soup, choice of Rosemary Chicken or Stuffed Portobello Mushrooms, Penne Pasta, Green Salad, and dessert. The cost for the entire evening is $40 per person or $20 for the performance only. Performance tickets for students and children are $10 each.

Arcosanti, an urban laboratory under construction in the high desert of central Arizona, is a model urban environment that is striving to reduce humankind’s ecological impact on the earth. Visitor tours are available every day (except major holidays) on the hour from 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. The Visitor’s Center is open from 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
