Farmington United Percussion Ensemble Takes Midwest Regional and State Championships

Farmington Hills, MI, April 12, 2008 --(PR.com)-- On Sunday April 6th, Farmington United Percussion Ensemble (FUPE) competed at the MCGC Indoor Percussion State Championships in Saginaw Michigan. The group was awarded first place winning a Gold Medal and the title of 2008 PIA Class State Champions with a score of 90.8.

Formed in 2004, this is the second state championship the group has been awarded. In March of this year Farmington United also took high honors winning the WGI Midwest Regional Championships in Dayton OH, where they competed against some of the top marching percussion ensembles in
the country.

“Farmington United’s season is far from over,” said Joe Kuerzi, FUPE’s director. “Later this month we will be competing at the WGI World Championships in Dayton OH.” Farmington United hopes to close their undefeated season with a win in Dayton where they will compete against some of the best groups in the world.

If you would like to see Farmington United perform their Midwest and State Championship show entitled “The Path” they will be performing along with other top percussion groups on Sunday April 13th at Farmington Harrison High School located at 29995 W 12 Mile Rd in Farmington Hills Michigan. Tickets are only five dollars and may be purchased at the door. The show starts at 3PM.
