Arlington, TX, April 17, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Bob Moore Construction’s Longhorn Harley-Davidson construction project has received the 2008 Merit Award from QUOIN / AGC.

Completed in 2007, the Longhorn Harley-Davidson Dealership is a 38,000 SF custom-designed building located along I-20 near State Highway 360 in Grand Prairie, Texas. The building’s interior is finished in a rustic Texas design, with stone, wood and chemically-distressed corrugated metal accents and Lone Star décor throughout the building. While the décor is old, the building features the newest in retail technologies. The main showroom features multiple LCD panels that show video clips and product information that are downloaded by satellite from Harley-Davidson’s corporate offices every day. The dealership’s service center includes a parts warehouse, 25 independent service bays, a wash rack and a computerized diagnostics system.

The building was submitted to the annual Summit Awards program for QUOIN, the north and east Texas chapter of AGC, in the category of Design-Build projects under $10 million. Criteria for judging included difficulty in construction, unusual construction techniques, final appearance and quality, timeliness of completion and safety. Longhorn Harley-Davidson was the only project to receive a Merit Award in this category.

“We’re honored that our Longhorn Harley-Davidson project received this award,” said Phillip Bell, President of Bob Moore Construction. “This award makes 2008 the fourth consecutive year Bob Moore Construction has received formal recognition at QUOIN’s annual Oscar Night Banquet, which is also very exciting for us. Curt Hellen and the project team did a tremendous job of driving this project to completion in spite of losing 20% of their construction days to inclement weather. Even with all the lost days, the building was completed on time, which was crucial to our clients, and it looks great inside and out.”

“I’m very pleased to see this building getting recognition from AGC,” said Curt Hellen, Senior Project Manager for Bob Moore Construction. “Even with the challenges presented by the weather, the building turned out beautifully. The interior is particularly dramatic, making this project a real showcase for Longhorn and for us too. Alfred and Maritia Keeling with Longhorn were great to work with and their excitement about the project made it a pleasure to do. Our subs really stepped up to deliver this building on time, and this award is recognition of their hard work as well.”

Bob Moore Construction was also honored at QUOIN’s Oscar Night when their safety director Dino Sideris was named 2008 Safety Director of the Year.

The award was presented at QUOIN’s Oscar Night on April 8, 2008 at the Gaylord Texan Hotel in Grapevine, Texas.
