Poseidon for UML Version 4.1 Released

Advances in Activity diagrams highlight the newest tool offering from Gentleware.

Hamburg, Germany, March 22, 2006 --(PR.com)-- Innovative UML tool provider Gentleware AG announced today the release of version 4.1 of the market-leading modeling tool, 'Poseidon for UML'.  The eagerly anticipated release offers many new features, most notably additions to Activity diagrams in complete compliance with UML 2.0.  Poseidon for UML fully implements the underlying logic of the UML 2 standard, and does so within a user-friendly interface.

The UML 2.0 metamodel substantially refines and improves Activity diagrams. The UML 1.4 Activity diagram was defined with StateMachine as it's foundation, UML 2.0 defines a completely separate metamodel for it, making the diagram much more suited to the job of describing behavior or processes.  With this new release, Poseidon provides the most sophisticated and intelligent implementation of activity partitions, structured activity nodes such as loop and conditional nodes, and expansion and interruptable regions, and more.

"Poseidon has always maintained a focus on the end-user experience.  The new Activity diagram is our masterpiece in this regard," states CEO and founder Dr. Marko Boger.  "Business analysts will find the swimlane functionality of activity partitions to be particularly useful, whereas software developers will love features such as loop and conditional nodes and exception handling."

Poseidon has also added to it's repertoire the ability to model metamodels for use within the Eclipse Modeling Framework.  The simple-to-use Ecore export feature is available within the Professional and Enterprise editions.

These enhancements can be evaluated free of charge for 30 days or purchased at the Gentleware web site (www.gentleware.com).  Among other products, commercial users may choose the Standard Edition for USD 249 or the Eclipse-integrated Professional Edition for USD 875.  Gentleware also offers convenient and economical concurrent user license packages for multi-user environments, and University discounts.
