VSG Acquires “Peek-A-Boo” from Gemelli Films for Theatrical Distribution

The suspense thriller from Gemelli Films stars Paulie Calafiore, Cara Maria Sorbello, Ashley Brinkman and many others.

Brookhaven, NY, August 31, 2020 --(PR.com)-- Gemelli Films Incorporated announced their suspense thriller “Peek-A-Boo” will be theatrically released in Brunei, Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam this Spring by VSG. This is the first of this genre by Gemelli Films, and their second movie to be released theatrically. Their first film, “What Happened Last Night,” was theatrically released at the end of 2016 by Sony Pictures Entertainment.

“Peek-A-Boo” stars Paulie Calafiore (The Challenge, Big Brother), Ashley Brinkman (The Malibu Tapes) and Cara Maria Sorbello (The Challenge). The rest of the cast has not yet been announced, though filming begins on October 19th this year.

This suspense thriller tells the story of Brenna Huxley (Sorbello), a troubled young woman who finds herself pregnant by her convict boyfriend Jacob (Calafiore). After Jacob demands Brenna “get rid of it,” Brenna meets the Keanes, who offer to pay her $50,000 to adopt her unborn child. Brenna agrees, and everything seems like it will work out for everyone.

On the same day Jacob is released from prison, the Keanes leave now one year old Emily with her nanny, Nikki Thompson (Brinkman), while they go away for a long weekend. Jacob and Brenna decide that they want Emily back, and go after her in the Keanes’ home. Nikki and her friends accidentally lock the house down with Brenna and Jacob in it, having to survive the night and protect baby Emily from her angry biological parents.

“To say that I’m thrilled would be an understatement,” says star and producer Paulie Calafiore. “After making the decision to transition into the film world, having my first starring role and co-produced film already have international theatrical distribution is truly a blessing. I’ve been preparing really hard for this role, and now I’m going to take it to the next level.”

“I’m ecstatic that ‘Peek-A-Boo’ will be on the big screen,” agrees writer/director Candice Cain. “It is really motivating to already have a distribution deal signed before starting principal photography. Everyone involved is excited.”

“Peek-A-Boo” films on Long Island (NY) this October with an expected release at the end of March 2021.
