Belconn's 6x Direct Buried Optical Fibre Cable Lasts for Life

Thick steel armoring provides exceptional durability.

Torino, Italy, May 21, 2008 --(PR.com)-- As part of a standardization process of existing in-house optical cable technologies, H6 armored cables - being succesfully produced for many applications within the last decade - are now available as a standard product under the name of "6X".

6X optical fibre cables are specifically designed and manufactured for direct buried applications requiring the highest degree of durability and reliability.

By means of a state of the art manufacturing process, a thick steel tape is longitudinally wrapped around the optical fibre cores and then arc welded to give an outstanding level of protection to the cable. Before final jacketing, the steel armoring goes through a corrugation process to allow affordable cable bending.

6X cables have an excepionally high impact and static load behaviour, as well as outstanding tensile strength performances.

6X cables can be successfully utilised in transport networks as well as in tunnels, railways, bridges, underground systems and, generally speaking, in heavy duty deployments.

Fibre capacity ranges from 24 to 96 fo, in G652, G655 and G656 technology.
