Trlokom SpyWall Stops IE CreateTextRange 0-Day Exploit

Monrovia, CA, March 31, 2006 --(PR.com)-- Trlokom, Inc., the leading provider of end-point security solutions, today announced that its flagship product, SpyWall, blocks the latest IE CreateTextRange 0-day exploit without using any signatures.

A remote code execution vulnerability exists in the way HTML objects handle unexpected method calls that allows a malicious Web site to install spyware, Trojans, and other malware on users machine. The attack can be launched when the user visits the Web site or clicks on a link received via e-mail. The exploit does not require any other action from the user.

Already several hundred websites are using this vulnerability to install malware on the machines of users who are lured over to them. A patch to fix this vulnerability will be available from Microsoft only after 11th April.
