Restoration Building Company Acquires Traditional Plastering Specialist Trumpers

Birmingham, United Kingdom, June 01, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Restoration specialist Linford Bridgeman has acquired the Birmingham-based plastering specialist Trumpers for an undisclosed sum.

Trumpers is one of Britain’s best-known traditional plastering businesses, specialising in working with lime plastering on historic restoration and conservation projects. The company has helped restore many of the finest buildings in Britain, and is currently working on buildings including the Molineux Hotel in Wolverhampton, the Workers Institute of the Black Country Living Museum, and historical Quakers Friars in Bristol.

The business was previously part of William Sapcote and Sons in Birmingham, which went in to receivership in 2007. The acquisition helps secure 16 full-time jobs.

Simon Linford, chief executive at Linford Group said: “Trumpers is a genuine authority in specialist and traditional plastering, and having worked with the team on many projects in the past we are delighted to welcome such skilled and experienced craftsmen to Linford.”

And Phil Semmens, divisional manager at Trumpers said: “We have worked with Linford on some of the country’s finest historic buildings and have always been impressed by its commitment to traditional crafts and skills training.

“As part of Linford Group we will have the right support and investment to ensure we can maintain our position as the UK’s leading specialist in traditional plastering.”

As part of Linford Group, Trumpers will continue to offer a range of plastering services including condition reports, conservation and restoration of damaged plasterwork, replication of wall and ceiling details, on or off-site repairs, and high quality work with fibrous plaster, lime plaster and lime rendering.

The Trumpers deal follows the acquisition in 2007 of Dorothea Restorations, a leading architectural metalwork specialist. Together with Linford’s existing stonemasonry and joinery services, these acquisitions have helped further strengthens Linford’s position as one the UK’s leading specialist contractors in restoration and regeneration projects.
