In this position, Coates will lead interior design projects, mentor interior design staff and develop new interior design market segments. Coates recently owned and operated her own design firm in Durham, where she focused on tenant improvement projects specializing in the healthcare and corporate market segments. Coates has served as president of International Interior Design Association Carolinas chapter and currently serves as the organization’s treasurer.
