Washington, DC, June 18, 2008 --(PR.com)-- A new generation of bluegrass filled with fiddle, banjo and solid instrumentation called “Junior League Band” emerges onto the scene.

This summer, Junior League Band's high-energy performance will be featured on the emerging artist stage at Virginia’s Floydfest where there will be three days of music, art, and entertainment from Thursday, July 24, through Sunday, July 27.

Lissy Rosemont, contributing member to Junior League says, “After seeing so many great bands at Floydfest in the past, we're excited to be sharing the stage with bands such as Avetts and David Grisman."

The band will also be featured at Summerfest; heralded as the largest music festival in the world, this eleven day party takes place where downtown Milwaukee meets Lake Michigan. This festival, which runs from June 28th through July 6th features historic artists including: Stevie Wonder, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Steve Miller Band, Joe Cocker, The Roots, Stone Temple Pilots, Earth Wind and Fire, Gnarls Barkley, and Alicia Keys.

Junior League Band adopted their name from a lighthearted play on her grandmother’s own position as the president of the Southern belle league of southern society women in the 1950’s.”

The Washington Post has named them to be “a delightfully breezy brand of Americana.”

Catch them this summer and then again late fall as a tour along side Hoots and Hellmouth and Blueground Undergrass is in the works. Also look out for up and coming band produced release so one can indulge in the musical stylings that is Junior League Band.
