People on the Move

Erie, PA, June 18, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Erie Art Museum Director John Vanco delivered a keynote speech at the first Picture Pennsylvania Conference in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania on May 30, 2008. The event gave Vanco an opportunity to discuss the Museum and their critically acclaimed traveling exhibitions that have toured the nation. In the past five years, these shows – all with the “Made in Erie, PA” imprimatur – have been viewed by 300,000 people.

The traveling exhibitions, The Art of Marc Brown, Archaeology at the Dawn of History: The Khirbet Iskander Collection, The Last Album: Eyes from the Ashes, The Shape of Life by Eva Zeisel and Kanga and Kitenge: Cloth and Culture in East Africa, are currently available for booking.

The arts conference introduced the first collaborative event between the Pennsylvania Council and the Arts partners, Pennsylvania Partners and Picture Pennsylvania. This provided Vanco with the opportunity to network and introduce the Museum to outside partnerships within the regions of Pennsylvania.
