5th Annual Freedom Festival Long Beach

5th Annual Freedom Festival, Long Beach's largest Clean and Sober outdoor concert on June 22, 008 from 11am to 6pm.

Long Beach, CA, June 19, 2008 --(PR.com)-- The 5th Annual Freedom Festival, Long Beach's original clean and sober outdoor concert, is returning to the Police Officers Academy Park (P.O.A. Park). The live concert is a celebration of life without alcohol, drugs or any mind-altering substance or addictive behaviors. This all day event is meant to be an affordable festival for individuals, families and friends in recovery, whether they have 1 day or 50 years of sobriety.

Over the years, the festival has been inspired by such world class artists as Robert Lucas (Canned Heat), Maggie Mayall, Joe Wood, Joe Houston, Arthur Lee Hooker, Robin Kirmsse, Denny Seiwell (Wings), Cadillac Tramps, Chuck Alvarez, The Step Sisters, Wax Apples, The Golords, There Go I, and Eddie Watkins, Jr. just to name a few.

This year's Festival will include continuous music with top touring bands on two stages:
VK Lynne, Choyce Band, Resentmentz, Highway To Hell (AC/DC Tribute), Ragdoll, Judge Jackson, Woodville Marsh, Chad McCann, and Johnny & the Brindley Brothers. Kenny M. from Arizona is the speaker. For the fifth consecutive year, Anne Kelly will be the emcee.

Expect face painting, food court, souvenirs, kid's games, art, raffles, and more.

This special program is part of "Dr. Dohn's World of Health" and will be aired on TV Channels 65, 69, 95 on Weds 6/18 at 6pm; Fri 6/20 at 8pm; and Sat 6/21 at 1:30pm. This year's Festival is dedicated in honor of their friend Joe Buck whose untimely death both shocked and saddened the hearts of all who knew and loved him. He was the originator and backbone behind this event and will be forever remembered for his dedication to the event and passion for music and recovery. The Freedom Festival has been established as a non-profit organization under Code Section 501-C(3) of the Untied States Internal Revenue Code, and is governed by a Board of Directors. The Board is composed of people from all lifestyles including music business professionals and individuals who are active members of 12-Step Fellowship programs, including Alcoholics Anonymous (AA), Narcotics Anonymous (NA), Cocaine Anonymous (CA), Overeaters Anonymous 9OA), and Al-Anon. All Board and Committee Members donate their time, free of charge. Volunteers working with the Board and Committee Members help make this celebration a success.
