Chris Edmondson Earns Big Win at International Players Tour Masters Challenge Championship in Garland, Texas

Final Round Net 69 earns Chris $7175 in Cash - Richard Golden takes home Senior Net Title and $3500 Prize Money.

Saginaw, TX, June 19, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Chris Edmondson (Flint, Texas) and Richard Golden (Memphis, TN) took home top honors in the International Players Tour (IPT) 2008 Masters Challenge Championship recently completed at The Firewheel Golf Club in Garland, Texas. The 36 hole event had the largest field of the year in a schedule which features over 200 events around the country, culminating with the Tour Championship in November.

After a disappointing opening round 74, Edmonson fired a 70, net 69, in severe wind conditions around the 6853 yard Firewheel track, and edged first round leader Phil Schwartz (Ft. Worth, TX) by one shot with a birdie on the 18th hole in the final round. His superb final round earned Chris the $5000 Winner’s Share, as well as significant added cash from event optional games. Schwartz earned $2747 for his second place finish in the Net Division Competition.

Ron Beaman, Founder and President of the IPT, said, “Chris played outstanding on the second day under some tough playing conditions, and he should be proud of a great victory over a very challenging field.” He added, “With over sixty players competing during the past two days, it was a great event for IPT and another strong indicator of our continued growth and demand for our tournament product. Also, with IPT continuing to conduct Tour Championship qualifying, the Tour Championship is looking like we may see a full field of 144 players competing for the largest cash prize available anywhere in Net Competition.”

In the Senior Net Competition, Richard Golden (Memphis, TX) captured First Place and earned $3500, finishing tied for third in the overall Net Division competition as well. His 145 total resulted from steady and consistent play as a six handicap, and was his first IPT win ever.

Sixty-one players competed in the 2008 Masters Challenge Championship for a total event payout of $37,842.80, with 58% of the participants taking home cash. IPT members continue to focus on qualifying for the 2008 Tour Championship in November for a Winner’s Share of $20,000. The event will be held at Marriott’s Horseshoe Bay Resort near Austin, TX November 17-23, 2008. The next Major Event on the IPT schedule is the Texas State Championship in Kingwood, TX June 27-29.

About International Players Tour (IPT)

International Players Tour, operated by prior management of Champions Golf Tour (CGT), was launched in January 2008 for the purpose of bringing PGA style competition to avid golfers everywhere. Operations began in April 2002 under the banner of the Champions Golf Tour, which was founded by Ron Beaman in the Dallas/Ft.Worth area. Ron developed a business model that would provide avid recreational golfers a chance to play in an environment similar to major tour events – “inside the ropes” for significant prize money – utilizing a proprietary handicap system.

After conducting its first event in June, 2002, CGT followed with 17 tournaments in 2002 and awarded nearly $60,000 in prize money. Significant and sustained growth has occurred in subsequent years in player participation, number of events, and prize money. With over 1200 players in their system, IPT management conducted over 150 events in 2007 within ten state and twelve metropolitan city areas with payouts exceeding $570,000. In 2008, the IPT will conduct 200+ events in fifteen different metro areas, culminating in the Tour Championship at the Horseshoe Bay Marriott Resort in Texas, with the winner taking home $20,000 in Guarenteed first place prize money.

“The Model that Works” is now being adopted effectively and implemented successfully in multiple cities, with projected expansion into 5-10 new markets each year – including international locations - through a unique licensing rights program.

In addition, IPT has expanded its 2008 Senior Tour Division schedule to include 10-12 new 54 hole events across the USA. The Senior Tour Division provides playing opportunities for seniors with competitive aspirations on the PGA Champions Tour or maintaining their level of competition for significant purses.
