Service Management Systems Selects Infor Enterprise Asset Management

Infor EAM Enterprise Edition Streamlines Facility Maintenance Nationwide.

Atlanta, GA, June 25, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Infor today announced Service Management Systems (SMS), a leading provider of janitorial and maintenance services to malls and other public facilities, selected Infor EAM Enterprise Edition. The solution will be incorporated into SMS’s proprietary WorkstrEAM maintenance and housekeeping process designed to manage, maintain and track resources and assets. SMS will be able to utilize resources more efficiently, improve maintenance processes and increase its ability to service larger facilities and more customers.

SMS has relied on traditional computerized maintenance management software (CMMS) to manage its facilities maintenance practices. The legacy system was not able to keep up with the company’s growth and management sought a long-term solution that would support their unique business processes. SMS now has a single business solution that combines purchasing, work requests, work orders and asset management. This allows the company to manage all of its maintenance and janitorial practices with one application, reducing work order response times and improving overall customer service.

“We had been searching for the right software partner to further enhance our proprietary WorkstrEAM maintenance and housekeeping processes,” said Jim Seaton, president, Service Management Systems. “Infor was the best choice due to its experience, knowledge and ability to work in unison as a strategic partner. Infor EAM meets our specific needs and provides the asset planning, management and reporting capabilities critical to efficiently run each property, which is essential to our growth plans.”

The inclusion of the Infor EAM Enterprise Edition into SMS’s WorkstrEAM process provides managers access to real-time key performance indicators (KPIs) that will allow SMS to control its assets and resources through one central application. SMS provides services for retail locations, airports, hospitality venues, and healthcare facilities, each with unique attributes, floor plans and customer requirements. A key differentiator of the solution is it allows users to gain insight into the performance of the assets of a specific facility, or of an entire network of facilities, through a set of customized KPIs. Knowledge gained through the KPIs can be used to keep equipment and processes running smoothly at each facility, maximizing customer uptime and satisfaction.

“SMS keeps its customers’ facilities well-maintained and operating smoothly, ensuring that the end-consumer has a safe, positive experience and brand impression,” said John Murphy, director, global industry and product marketing, EAM, Infor. “Infor EAM Enterprise Edition’s business-specific functionality provides SMS the ability to accurately manage assets and resources and implement proactive measures that directly translate into improved uptime and reliability for its customers.”

SMS is in the process of rolling out WorkstrEAM in 34 malls across the country with plans to further deploy the system.
