Islamorada, FL, June 25, 2008 --(PR.com)-- More than 100 women will come from South Florida and other areas to learn fishing at the 9th Annual “Ladies, Let’s Go Fishing!”® seminar. This award-winning fishing seminar series for women, hosted by Florida’s Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) and presented by Mercury Outboards, kicks off with a networking reception at Holiday Isle on Friday, Sept. 19 from 6 - 8pm. The seminar is at Holiday Isle on Saturday, Sept. 20 from 7:20am - 4:30pm. An optional, full day of fishing out of Whale Harbor is on Sunday, Sept. 21 from 7:00am - 3:30pm. The event concludes with a fillet class.

The classroom portion starts at 7:20am on Saturday where fishing techniques are taught at beginner and intermediate/advanced levels. Topics are Offshore, Bottom, Inshore and Fly Fishing. After lunch, the women will participate in several “hands-on” fishing stations, such as conservation techniques, spin casting, net casting, knot tying, gaffing grapefruits, boat handling, trailer backing and reeling against pressure, until 4:30pm. The full day Fishing Adventure followed by a fillet class is on Sunday.
