PBS Offers a Spiritual Journey Tour to India

Channel 10 in Wisconsin and Illinois, a PBS station has chosen Spiritual Journeys Inc.’s tour, Spirituality Across North India, as an on-air fundraising product. The tour will be shown May 3 to 6, with auction closing May 6. The 14-night tour departs USA February 1, 2007. Wayland, MA, April 13, 2006 --(PR.com)-- A Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) station has chosen Spiritual Journeys Inc.’s tour, Spirituality Across North India, as an on-air fundraising product. Channel 10 in southeastern Wisconsin and northern Illinois, has a commendable history: They lead the nations PBS auctions in prime time viewer ratings, are the #1 PBS auction in the nation based on net revenue, and have won 5 PBS awards for fundraising excellence. The tour will be shown at: 11:15 PM Wednesday May 3, 5:15 PM and 11:15 PM Thursday May 4, 4:45 PM and 9:30 PM Friday May 5, and 3:15 PM and 5:15 PM Saturday May 6. Auction for this tour closes at 7:45 PM on Saturday May 6. However, since this is on live TV, the times can vary by as much as an hour either way.

At each step of this journey, discussions and interaction with eminent teachers will help explore and expand ones personal connection to the unfolding essence of India. Spirituality is not just about seeing and experiencing different places of worship. Eminent teachers and speakers will inter-space the tour with five one-hour long talks: History of Different Religions in India, Origins and History of Buddhism, History of Islam in India, Hinduism - the Emergence of a Religion from a Philosophy, and, The Essence of Sikhism.

Starting and ending in Delhi, the capital city of a succession of powerful kingdoms each leaving numerous fascinating ruins through the ages, the tour goes to Jaipur (bazaars, forts and palaces), Agra (Taj Mahal), Varanasi (one of the oldest cities in the world, with a pre-dawn boat ride on the Holy Ganga), Sarnath (where Buddha gave his first sermon), Khajuraho (city of gorgeous temples, some known for their erotic sculptures), Orcha (serenity and bliss) and Sanchi (pristine statues over 2,000 years old).
