www.jdavisarchitects.com) a full-service architecture, landscape architecture and interior design firm, has announced that the firm sponsored Kids City Planning Day – Raleigh 2030, an event held May 3 at the Marbles Kids Museum to educate kids on the role that each person can play in how communities grow. Throughout the day, kids 10 and under used recycled boxes, construction paper, string, tape, crayons, markers and other creative tools to construct their ideal city on a grid that winds through the museum’s first floor.
Kids City Planning Day – Raleigh 2030 is part of a 24-month process to update the City of Raleigh’s Comprehensive Plan. The plan will serve as the policy framework for a wide range of decisions concerning land use, development, design and public investment priorities. Since 1989, when the last Comprehensive Plan was adopted, Raleigh has grown exponentially and is expected to grow by 70 percent over the next 20 years to reach a population of 700,000.
