Boot Out Breast Cancer Ball: A Parisian Affair Raising £73,000 for Breast Cancer Equipment for NHS Hospitals
Bolton, United Kingdom, September 21, 2025 --(PR.com)-- Boot Out Breast Cancer hosted a Parisian-themed charity gala on the evening of 7 September 2024 at the iconic Kimpton Clocktower Hotel, Manchester. The event, attended by hundreds of guests, featured a night of Parisian glamour, entertainment, and overwhelming generosity, raising an incredible £73,000 to support the fight against breast cancer.
The evening began with a red-carpet welcome, where guests were greeted by stilt walkers dressed in Parisian-inspired attire. A champagne reception set the tone for the evening, with attendees soaking up the vibrant atmosphere before being guided into the grand ballroom.
The ballroom was transformed into a replica of the famed Paris theatre, complete with large screens, a rich red hue from the table lamps, a larger-than-life windmill, a 20-foot Eiffel Tower, and a foggy ambience that created a truly immersive Parisian experience. Guests were captivated from the moment they entered.
The evening’s compère, Hugh Ferris, kicked off the festivities by welcoming founder and chair of Boot Out Breast Cancer, Debbie Dowie, to the stage. She was followed by a heartfelt video message from Dr. Amruta Talwalkar, Director of Breast Screening and Consultant, who emphasised the impact of the funds raised for hospitals like hers. Apology videos from the charity's patrons, football legend Alan Shearer and Paralympic icon Dame Sarah Storey, added a personal touch as they sent their best wishes for the event’s success.
Entertainment came in the form of an electrifying performance by Carmina Entertainment, who enthralled the audience with 'Moulin Rouge-inspired' acts, including "Lady Marmalade," the Can-Can, acrobatics, and precision dancing.
Fundraising highlights included a raffle with generous prizes such as an iPad Air donated by Scan Computers and a breathtaking ruby and diamond necklace, valued at £5,600, donated by Slack & Andrews. The raffle was a hit, raising significant funds for the cause.
Guests were also treated to a performance by Alexander Stewart, before enjoying a three-course meal that was the perfect complement to the glamorous evening.
The entertainment continued with Carmina Entertainment delivering a second session, featuring a sultry strip tease, mesmerising hoop acrobatics, and a daring roller-skating stunt that left the audience stunned.
The live auction, led by Iain Dowie, brought the evening to new heights, as guests competed to raise as much money as possible for the charity. Live auction prizes included a 2-ball golfing experience with Alan Shearer, meet and greet tickets for a Sky’s League of Their Own, a commission painting from Ben Mosley, the official Team GB artist as well as Wembley artist in residence, amongst many other high-value, “money-can’t-buy” prizes!
A musical highlight of the night came from the artist Laura White, former X Factor finalist and acclaimed singer-songwriter. Known for her powerhouse vocals and soulful performances, Laura had the audience dancing throughout her set, adding a touch of star power to an already unforgettable evening.
The night ended with DJ Nihal from BBC Radio 5 spinning the decks, ensuring the party continued late into the night.
In total, the event raised a staggering £73,000, with all proceeds going towards vital breast cancer screening and treatment services.
Boot Out Breast Cancer founder Debbie Dowie said, "I am overwhelmed by the generosity and support shown tonight. Every penny raised will go towards helping those affected by breast cancer, and I couldn’t be prouder of what we’ve achieved together."
