The comments from men and women and age groups from the 20’s to the 80’s have voiced positive opinions. The book is not just for Ohioans either. Jimmy paints the story of young brothers creating memories with the freedom to explore their world in Kalida, Ohio. People across the states are taken by the tales. I really enjoyed it. Tell Jim I love his book. Those who read it are in for a real treat. I could not stop reading it, I cried at the end. I have enjoyed the wonderfully detailed stories. It is really cool. My school kids love it. We did the same things. I did not know others were doing it too. It is great. How did you find the mine? I loved it.” Thanks for these and the other comments. James has stated this is a unique book to give a special person at Christmas time.

James Gerdeman wrote Jimmy as a project conceived by his wife, Mary Jo, during a time where work caused him to temporarily relocate for a number of years. Hours were shared on the patio and during dinners out telling the funny stories of Jim’s youth. She thought a collection of these talks would be entertaining. Jim used his idle time while away from home to develop the stories and she helped by recalling many of the episodes.

Jimmy is available at, in a marketplace filled with unique surprises.
