Channel Intelligence Vice President Vik Murty Named to Dealerscope’s Top 40 Under 40

(CI) Vice President and SellPath® General Manager Vik Murty is named in Dealerscope Magazine’s 2008 Top 40 Under 40 list of emerging talent in the consumer electronics industry. The list names 40 individuals under 40 years old who are helping shape the consumer electronics industry from all areas of expertise. In his role at CI, a leading product data technology and marketing company, Murty pilots the growth of SellPath® Online Merchandising Solutions, designed to strengthen manufacturer-to-retailer relationships.

Murty joined CI in 2007 from an established background in consumer electronics marketing. As Vice President and SellPath General Manager at CI, he consults with household brand names in consumer electronics from Samsung to Mitsubishi Electronics, LG, Sling Media and the CEA to create and offer solutions that improve sales opportunities and brand exposure while strengthening online merchandising and channel relationships and driving ROI through online marketing.

A consumer electronics veteran, Murty joined CI from Mitsubishi Digital Television, where he served as its senior brand manager responsible for brand, product and channel marketing programs including Mitsubishi’s HDTV online marketing and channel support programs. Murty’s experience also includes launching Samsung brand major appliances in the US for Samsung Electronics as a category product manager. He also served previously as manager of sales and distribution for DIRECTV where he managed relationships with key Midwest retailers after his start in the CE industry in store management for Circuit City Stores, Inc. Murty holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a concentration in Managing Technology Intensive Enterprises from Babson College in Wellesley, Mass., and a Bachelor of Science (BS) from Bentley College in Waltham, Mass.
