Hermosa Beach, CA, July 03, 2008 --(PR.com)-- The Hermosa Beach Soccer Club’s (www.HermosaBeachSoccerClub.com) men’s and women’s premiere teams joined forces on June 28 and 29, 2008, to compete in the co-ed division of the Temecula Adult Holiday Classic Tournament in Temecula, California. After two days in the Temecula heat, HBSC was crowned champion of the co-ed division, adding another trophy to HBSC’s already full mantle.

The weekend long co-ed soccer tournament, played at the John Blanche Memorial Soccer Complex in the Temecula Valley, included six teams originating from California and Arizona. Teams competed in a three-game round robin competition followed by the elimination rounds. The Hermosa Beach Soccer Club, who received a bye in the quarterfinal round, scorched its opponents 12-0 during round robin play and outscored the competition 5-2 during the playoffs.

“This is what HBSC soccer is all about. After a long and successful year, our teams coming together for some fun and in the process bringing home another title,” said Jesse Torres, HBSC Club Founder. “HBSC is not only about playing winning soccer – it is also about building a soccer family. This tournament gives our men and women the opportunity to come together as HBSC family.”

“This was great fun. Though we managed some very large margins early on, we also encountered some challenges late in the tournament. The heat, injuries and a lack of substitutes made for a challenging final. However, our team did what needed to be done and executed to pull off the win and take home the trophy,” said Brian Dragich, HBSC President. “We’ll head back to the cool of the beach to prepare for the San Diego and Santa Barbara tournaments, hopefully bringing home two more titles before the summer is up.”

The Hermosa Beach Soccer Club extends its gratitude to its generous 2007/2008 sponsors: Del Amo Construction (DelAmoConstruction.com), Elliott/Drinkward Construction (ElliottDrinkward.com), TomatoBank, N.A.
