LeagueTennis.com Builds an Exciting Tennis Community for Its Players

Atlanta, GA, July 04, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Players in Atlanta, Houston, Dallas, Fort Worth, Austin and San Antonio are enjoying the fun, flexible, competitive tennis leagues provided by LeagueTennis.com. The primary benefit of the flexible format is that players can sign up individually for singles or with a partner for doubles and schedule their matches at a time that is convenient to everyone. The league is great for players who are too busy to make the time commitment necessary for traditional USTA, ALTA and other team leagues and for players who are not available to play at the time other leagues are scheduled. Other players use it as a supplement to their traditional leagues, such as Pam Klingbeil in Atlanta who says, “I love the LeagueTennis.com format because it allows me to play a match every week with the same partner. I can practice skills I learned at drills and be match ready on Thursday when I play with my ladies ALTA team.”

LeagueTennis.com is working to build an exciting tennis community for its players. The company produces an informative monthly e-newsletter that includes tennis and fitness tips, information on local tennis stores and events, and the occasional recipe submitted by a player. The e-newsletter also provides an opportunity for the membership to learn what is going on in the LeagueTennis.com community including the results of the league championships and special features such as “Meet a Player” that highlights players in the leagues. The player community is supported by the LeagueTennis.com Website and includes features such as Find a Partner and Player Statistics. New features will be added in 2008 and 2009 to allow players to find local events, facilities and teaching pros, and to allow members to opt-in to social networking features to connect with other players in the community.

In May, the league began working with Brian de Villiers and Grant Stafford of RCS Tennis Academy to film a monthly video tennis tip for its members. Each month, one or more LeagueTennis.com players are invited to participate in the filming of a video at Racquet Club of the South in Norcross, Georgia. Says Brian de Villiers, “The videos are designed to focus on strategies and skills that can help bring a player’s game to the next level. For our May tip, we worked with Gerard Ladson & Charlotte Thompson, the LeagueTennis.com Winter 4.5 Atlanta Singles City Champs. They are both advanced players, so we worked on strategies to a more aggressive game that will allow them to close out points faster.” Brian coaches the current #2 junior in the world, Melanie Oudin from Marietta, Georgia and also advises the league on their Junior program which was launched in Atlanta in the Spring.

Says partner, Tricia Reeks, “We started the leagues with a small group of close to 100 doubles players in Houston & Atlanta last Fall, but since then have seen the leagues grow rapidly with over 4600 participants through June 2008. We have added adult singles and mixed doubles formats and just introduced junior singles in Atlanta. We now offer leagues in Atlanta, Georgia and in Houston, Dallas, Fort Worth, Austin & San Antonio, Texas, and plan to grow into other key tennis markets in 2009. We are building relationships in the tennis community with great organizations such as such as I Play Tennis, Ace Authentic, Netcord and SportsNet International who provide our players with prizes, awards and other benefits. Our players are the most enthusiastic group around and have made it such an enjoyable experience for all of us!”
