Circa 1886 Takes the Spotlight - Charleston Restaurant Debuts Second Video Podcast

Charleston, SC, July 11, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Just in time for summer dining, Circa 1886, a AAA Four-Diamond, Mobil Four-Star award-winning restaurant located in Charleston, S.C., recently debuted the second in its video Podcast series. The latest installment highlights Circa 1886’s summer menu, seasonal flavors and a cooking demonstration of one of the menu’s most popular desserts.

Filmed in the Circa 1886 kitchen, the nine-minute video features Executive Chef Marc Collins discussing the fresh, local summer ingredients he’s chosen for the menu, including sweet Vidalia onions, fresh okra and ripe melons, as well as displaying some of the menu’s dishes, like the organic baby-beet salad and this season’s trio of soups.

Pastry Chef Scott Lovorn also demonstrates how he creates the menu’s blackberry rice milk panna cotta dessert, whose flavor he describes as “a rice krispie treat for grown-ups.” Lovorn details the process of extracting the plantation rice flavor into the milk to create the rice taste without the texture.

“Our summer menu is packed with local produce — fruits, vegetables, grains. We hope this new Podcast will get people excited about the flavors they can find close to home,” says Collins. “It’s a great time to discover some new summer dishes, either with us at Circa 1886 or at home in your own kitchen.”

The video Podcast is available at www.circa1886.com, as well as on many different online video sites, such as the Circa 1886 YouTube at www.youtube.com/circa1886.
