Honolulu, HI, March 02, 2026 --(PR.com)-- Eloise Lewis, who was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, by a single mother of six children, has completed her new book, “Build Resilience: A Memoir”: a compelling work that discusses the author’s life experiences and offers tactics on how to mitigate targeting.

Author Eloise Lewis navigated various obstacles and an ocean to find answers about her deepest “self.” Eloise moved from Chicago to Honolulu and found commonalities about her way of life as a member of the LGBTQIA+ community and a viable path to mental wellness. Moreover, Eloise came to understand that a diagnosis of bipolar disorder was, indeed, incorrect. In her middle forties, with the help of just the most appropriate board-certified psychiatrist, Eloise arrived at the more accurate and befitting diagnosis—something that could have been found but was missed by her teacher in the first grade. While traversing the terrain of work life and tackling the obstacles of racial discrimination along the way, she came to realize that she shared more with the islanders in her maternal DNA than she would ever know had she not uprooted.

Eloise shares, “The varied stories here demonstrate road maps to problem solving—the true barometer of intelligence. The values presented are meant to broaden the narrow views of our modern societies on the salience of material wealth as an agent for raising responsible children, gender norms, race, ethnicity, class genotypes (genetic lotto), and phenotypes (looks). My ethnic biodiversity came from my mother. When children have a fairly strong foundation for a sense of self, empathy, and the value of love and compassion, almost anything is possible. These are family values. When we are challenged outside of our typical milieu and comfort zone, when all that we cherish gets lost in the shuffle of life, the true nature of our character, talents, and resolve to succeed are invited to blossom. Having self-love and knowing what it is we are passionate about will help to navigate the terrain of life, along with the faith that other hidden talents and passions spring from them.”

Published by Page Publishing, Eloise Lewis’s autobiographical work takes readers on a journey to answer crucial questions about how to deal with the aforementioned themes.
