Dr. Joe Ferry’s New Book, "Endless," is a Compelling and Deeply Personal Series of Poetry Written During the Author’s Time as a Student at LIU Brooklyn Center
Milford, PA, March 03, 2026 --(PR.com)-- Fulton Books author Dr. Joe Ferry, a seven-time Grammy Award–nominated record producer and college professor, has completed his most recent book, “Endless”: a poignant and thought-provoking series of poems spanning nearly two decades that features the author’s unique style and his skill at turning a phrase.

Dr. Joe Ferry is professor emeritus at State University of New York, and he holds a PhD, master of fine arts (MFA), bachelor of science (BSc) degrees, among others. He has produced records for hundreds of recording artists, including Dr. John, The Skatalites, Delbert McClinton, The Skandalous Allstars, The Big Ska Band, Gil Parris, Bobby Womack, Ben E. King, Billy Vera, Sue Foley, Cornell Dupree, amongst others. Dr. Ferry’s former students at Purchase College have included renowned singer/songwriter Regina Spektor, Grammy-nominated jazz vocalist Cyrille-Aimee, folk-rock favorite Langhorne Slim, and popular DJ Dan Deacon. The author has toured as bassist with such renowned groups as The Big Ska Band, Sue Foley, Amanda Shaw, Richie Castellano and The Pocket Rockets, and several more.

“I wrote the bulk of this book, for the most part, in 1970. I was, at that time, an undergraduate student at LIU Brooklyn Center,” writes Dr. Ferry. “I had long breaks between classes and would often spend hours writing poetry. Brooklyn in those days was an urban area with historic old buildings lining its streets. LIU was on Flatbush Avenue, and one of the buildings that the college used for classes and office space was a charming, classic structure from the early twentieth century. It was at one time a burlesque theater with dressing rooms and box seats in the top section. It was here that I would go to write. It was a quiet and empty space where my mind could roam free.”

“My poems were always included in the school poetry magazine, ‘The 42nd Street Trip’. I used to have copies of the publication, but they have long since gone missing. I’ve edited a few of the poems, but the majority of the selections are as they were written originally in 1970. From time to time, I incorporate a word or two from the poetry into the song lyrics for my experimental band, The Hurtin’ Buckaroos.”

“The photos in this volume are by my friend Jerry Reganess. I picked these from among the dozens he sent me. They just moved me, spoke to me. So now you have the background. I hope you enjoy the book.”
