Texas Chapters, Members Honored for Outstanding Service During 2007-08.

El Paso, TX, July 23, 2008 --(PR.com)-- The Texas Association of Health Underwriters returned from the July 2 national convention in San Diego boasting a slew of prestigious honors bestowed upon its chapters and members. The conference, sponsored by the National Association of Health Underwriters, hosted chapters from coast to coast in order to honor those making a difference in the insurance industry.

Among the awards received were various chapter recognitions for most new members, website, presidential citation and media relations. TAHU walked away with the coveted Landmark Award, but the evening’s biggest accomplishment was the presentation of the Spirit of Freedom Award going to Misty Baker of the Austin Association of Health Underwriters. Baker, who is the founder of Lonestar Benefit Solutions, an independent agency that specializes in HSAs, was recognized for outstanding legislative work and impact on public policy.

“We are truly humbled that so many of our members have been nationally recognized for their work in the health insurance industry,” TAHU president Ron Buffman said. “We take great pride in the high level of dedication and professionalism to which our members adhere and are thrilled to be honored for our efforts.”

The Texas Association of Health Underwriters is the second largest Association of Health Underwriters in the United States. More information about the award winners and TAHU membership can be accessed at www.tahu.org.
