Caroma’s Donation to Help Foster Children: Supporting Abused Children at Olive Crest While Protecting the Environment

Hillsboro, OR, July 24, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Caroma, the leader in dual flush toilets and stylish bathroom sinks, is pleased to donate sinks and high efficiency toilets to Olive Crest, one of the West Coast’s premier children’s charities. The 35 year old charity promotes the safety and wellness of children and families through innovative programs, including specialized education, foster and adoption, family preservation, and residential homes.

HomeAid Inland Empire, the charitable arm of the Building Industry Association (BIA), is dedicated to helping those in need by building new facilities or expanding existing ones operated by non-profit agencies, such as Olive Crest. The Executive Director of HomeAid, Nycole Rochford, introduced Caroma to the Olive Crest project in early 2008: “Caroma is a leader in water-conserving toilets, and we were extremely pleased to make the introduction. We are very impressed not only with their willingness to donate toilets and sinks to the project but also their desire to give back to a community in need. Their enthusiasm to just jump in and do whatever it takes to get the job done makes Caroma a true hero in our book.”

Olive Crest and HomeAid are coordinating the building of four 3,000 square foot new homes, adding 24 new beds for youth who have been abused, abandoned, or neglected. “We are grateful to Caroma for their generous donation of sinks and toilets for Olive Crest’s Coachella Valley Children’s Center,” states Tesha Vann, Associate Development Director for Olive Crest – Coachella Valley. “Not only are they helping at-risk youth, but they are helping us conserve the environment with their high efficiency toilets. We all benefit!”

According to Derek Kirkpatrick, Caroma North America Manager, “We are extremely proud to be donating sinks and toilets to help the community of Coachella, the Olive Crest project, and especially abused children. Caroma has been promoting water conservation with high efficiency toilets and urinals for more than 20 years, and now to help children while continually helping the environment is an added bonus.”
