BJAC Releases Podcast on Collaborative Design

Raleigh, NC, July 25, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Lou Jurkowski, chief executive officer of BJAC pa (www.bjac.com), one of the largest woman-owned architectural design firms in the Southeast, has announced the release of a podcast on the collaborative process for designing educational facilities. In this podcast, Jennifer Amster, partner and director of higher education projects for the firm, discusses the collaborative, or participatory, design process and why it is so important to designing educational facilities. She has worked with collaborative teams on nine university campuses and more than 66 projects. Amster explains the process, outlines important factors for the success of collaborative projects and describes the primary challenges in completing the designs. The podcast concludes with Amster providing a real world example of the benefits of using the collaborative design process. This podcast is available for download at www.bjac.com/podcasts.

“The collaborative design process is one of the most effective tools for a successful educational facility design,” said Jurkowski. “When it comes to educational facilities there are several important people who need to be involved in decision-making, and collaborative design provides those people with both a voice and a vocabulary for communicating their needs.”
