My Specialtee - New Company Launches Unique Line of Tees

Local designer launches retail website to share her talents with the world.

New Rochelle, NY, July 28, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Just over a year ago, artist Roxanne Mapp began brainstorming ideas on how to expand on her talents as an award-winning graphic designer. After working for top advertising agencies for several years and having just returned from a visit to her native island country of Trinidad and Tobago, Roxanne felt inspired to create a line of unique t-shirts that symbolize some of the beautiful natural and cultural elements of Trinidad and Tobago, and the Caribbean, in general.

Roxanne came up with the name “My Specialtee.” She immediately registered it as a small business and started designing her distinctive t-shirts. Everything from the islands’ beautiful palm trees and glorious humming birds to the melodious steel pan (a musical instrument that originated in Trinidad and Tobago) are illustrated and designed into brightly-colored works of art on
her t-shirts.

In January of 2007, Roxanne completed a small business course hosted by WEDC (Women’s Economic Development Center). This gave her the business-boost that she needed to move ahead in the right direction.

My Specialtee plans to make its online presence known by spreading the word about the beauty of the islands. My Specialtee also accepts custom-design orders and has successfully completed assignments for numerous customers.
