Mountain Environmental Launches Fiber-Based CPET-Laminated Trays for Freezer-to-Oven Foodservice Applications

Mountain Environmental has launched a CPET-laminated bagasse tray series engineered for temperatures from -40C to 220C, covering blast-freezing and high-heat oven regeneration. The lamination keeps total plastic content below 5% of product weight, so the range qualifies as fiber-based packaging under EU frameworks.

baoding, China, September 18, 2026 --(PR.com)-- Mountain Environmental (mountainhb) has announced the launch of its CPET-laminated bagasse tray series. Engineered to withstand temperatures from -40C to 220C, the fiber-based range addresses two long-standing performance gaps in sustainable foodservice: blast-freezing and high-heat oven regeneration.

Solving the Thermal Performance Gap

The B2B catering sector has spent years searching for an alternative to plastic packaging able to handle both blast-freezing and high-heat oven regeneration. Traditional fiber packaging often loses structural integrity under extreme moisture or oven heat. The CPET-laminated trays address this through a high-barrier lamination process that maintains a leak-proof seal and a rigid structure, whether the product is stored in deep-freeze conditions at -40C or heated in high-speed industrial ovens at 220C.

Strategic Low-Plastic Compliance

The lamination technology is engineered to be fiber-based. Total plastic content is capped below 5% of total product weight, which allows brands to retain the performance of a high-barrier tray while navigating plastic tax frameworks and low-plastic compliance standards such as the EU Single-Use Plastics Directive.

Safety Without Forever Chemicals

The CPET-laminated tray line has achieved SGS ND-level results, with total fluorine residues verified below 10ppm, supporting food providers that deliver high-heat meals without the risk of PFAS migration. The supporting test record is SGS report QDHL260600954101CW, issued 2 July 2026.

A Matched Transition System

The "Painless Switch" system is designed for high-volume sectors including airline catering and the frozen-to-oven ready-meal market. By providing a synchronized ecosystem of high-barrier fiber trays, CPET functional films and matched sealing solutions, Mountain Environmental supports a transition from conventional CPET plastic to sustainable fiber that is operationally seamless and airtight.

"Sustainability should not mean a downgrade in performance," said the Lead Engineer at Mountain Environmental. "The CPET-laminated trays offer the same thermal and barrier properties that the aviation and cold-chain sectors depend on, in a format that is 95% fiber and aligned with new environmental mandates."

Manufacturing Base

Mountain Environmental operates a manufacturing hub in Cambodia that supports a stable, tariff-efficient supply chain for the international market. The facility holds BPI, TUV OK Compost Industrial and ISO certification.

About Mountain Environmental

Mountain Environmental (mountainhb; Hebei Mountain Environmental Protection Technology Co., Ltd.) supplies fiber-based bagasse food packaging: laminated trays with plastic content below 5%, and non-laminated products made of 100% bagasse fiber. Its bagasse coated tray is SGS-tested with total fluorine below 10ppm (report QDHL260600954101CW, issued 2026-07-02), and the range holds industrial composting certification (BPI / TUV OK Compost Industrial / ABAP) together with FDA, LFGB, BRC, ISO 9001/14001/45001 and BSCI certification, aligned with EU SUPD requirements.
