Woodstock, NY, July 29, 2008 --(PR.com
)-- The purpose of this study was to study usage patterns, health, and nutritional status of long term users of multiple dietary supplements and where possible, to compare the health and nutritional status to existing national nutrition survey data for two other groups - those who don't take nutrition supplements at all and those who used a just a multi-vitamin. In this study, the long term supplement users were Shaklee members who joined Shaklee at least 20 years ago.
The results of this study show that people who used multiple Shaklee supplements, long term, were more likely to have better blood nutrient levels, more optimal levels of key bio-markers of health, and better health status than users of single multivitamins or no supplements at all. For example Shaklee users had 2.9 cases of diabetes per 100 people where as single multivitamin users had 11.1 cases per 100 per 100 people. Bio-markers for stroke, heart attacks, emphysema, trigycerides, congestive hear failure, and C-Reactive Protein (indicator of inflammation) were also significantly lower in the Shaklee group than those who used only a multivitamin and the group that took no supplements.
Furthermore, the Shaklee population was much more likely to report their overall health as very good to excellent compared to the other groups.
"The Study Results were very impressive and support the potential benefits of long-term use of dietary supplements."
