Recent Release, "Lilly The Downeast Lobstah," from Fulton Books Author Sara Lucas-Briggs, Explores Friendship and Self-Discovery Along Maine's Rocky Coast
Jonesport, ME, September 07, 2026 --(PR.com)-- Sara Lucas-Briggs has completed a new book, "Lilly The Downeast Lobstah," follows a young lobster navigating the cool waters of Downeast Maine. The story centers on Lilly, a small lobster who initially feels uncertain about her place in the ocean, discovering that the other lobsters around her offer invaluable support. Through encounters
with larger lobsters and the bonds they form, Lilly learns essential lessons about survival, trust, and belonging in her seaside home.
The author's background from her younger days shines through in this heartwarming story about growing up and finding one's way. From her early work at Youth Agencies and her volunteerism in high school at the Newport-Mesa Family YMCA in Newport Beach, CA and again in college, while attending ASU, where she did her senior internship at the Mesa Family YMCA in Mesa, AZ to obtain her college degree. After college, she married and started her own family, still volunteering and helping in her local community, and went on to get her AZ real estate license. The real estate work never stopped, and she spent twenty plus years working in real estate sales and building relationships in her local community. By 2014, she opened her own real estate brokerage, Briggs Realty, and had lots of local support from her agents, the title companies, the lenders, friends and family before selling the company in 2022 to HomeServices of America. During the summer of 2024, she dreamt this story for two nights in a row and finally wrote it on the third day at her kitchen table. Once she wrote it, the dream left that night and it was gone.
In "Lilly The Downeast Lobstah," young readers will discover a gentle story about the power of friendship and the confidence that comes from learning to trust others. When Lilly and her companions are caught in a lobster trap, she experiences a turning point: thrown back into the water because she's too small, she initially hears her size as limitation. Yet through the wisdom her friends have shared, Lilly recognizes that being small is simply who she is meant to be. Readers will witness her transformation from a
fearful, unsure lobster into one ready to face the ocean alone, equipped with the emotional strength her lobster companions provided.
"For some unknown reason, I dreamt this story that resonates with young children who sometimes feel or uncertain about their place in the world," said this author. "Lilly's journey reminds us that our friendships sustain us and that our perceived weaknesses can become sources of strength."
Published by Fulton Books, Sara Lucas-Briggs's delightful work offers children an uplifting message about resilience and community. This enchanting tale will inspire young readers to value their friendships and embrace who they are.
