Recent Release, "A Journey Toward Justice," from Page Publishing Author Gary Benjamin, Chronicles a Lifetime Dismantling Systemic Racism Through Witness and Advocacy

Cleveland Heights, OH, September 23, 2026 --(PR.com)-- Gary Benjamin has completed a new book, "A Journey Toward Justice," which traces his formative years in the Jim Crow South and the transformative impact those experiences had on his life's work. Born in 1951 and raised in a Christian household, Benjamin's family relocated to Athens, Georgia, when he was eight years old, placing him directly within a segregated society during one of America's most turbulent periods. This profound early exposure to racial injustice became the crucible in which his commitment to social change was forged, setting the trajectory for decades of dedicated service.

Benjamin's background as a civil rights attorney and social change agent gives his narrative extraordinary credibility and depth. After graduating from Ohio Wesleyan University in 1973 and Wayne State Law School in 1978, he invested his career in Detroit and Cleveland, where he engaged in groundbreaking class action litigation against discriminatory government and business entities while simultaneously handling hundreds of individual cases for people challenging workplace discrimination. His multifaceted approach to justice encompasses work across housing, health care, banking practices, regional government, and economic development: a testament to his comprehensive understanding of how systemic inequity permeates every aspect of American life.

"A Journey Toward Justice" illuminates both the personal sacrifices and tangible victories that define a life committed to equitable transformation. Through compelling narratives of collaboration with community leaders and organizers, Benjamin shares pivotal moments including meaningful efforts to secure universal health care access in Michigan and Ohio, advocacy for fairer lending practices within Cleveland's Black community, and a nationally recognized campaign that freed a Haitian asylum seeker from detention. Readers will discover not only an inspiring testament to what sustained commitment can achieve, but also practical wisdom about being an effective ally and actionable insights into the persistent injustices that continue demanding our attention today.

"This book is my legacy to my family and to everyone committed to building a more just society," said Benjamin. "I want readers to feel empowered, educated, and inspired to take their own steps toward meaningful change."

Published by Page Publishing, Gary Benjamin's enlightening work offers readers both historical perspective and contemporary guidance for social justice work. His narrative demonstrates that individual action, when grounded in principle and executed with persistence, can fundamentally alter the course of institutional racism.
